Close to 25,000 Experiencing Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Intense Storms
Around 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast woke up experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the region, bringing powerful gusts reaching 109 kilometers per hour.
Substantial Ice Stones and Extensive Destruction
Homeowners observed large ice chunks measuring up to 7 centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that various areas across Queensland had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were working to restore electricity service throughout the damaged zones, with approximately seventy teams activated to manage the widespread outages.
Southern State's Climate Difficulties
At the same time, approximately one thousand households in Victoria also experienced electricity disruptions after Melbourne saw its most precipitation in 18 months.
Emergency response teams received 598 calls for help across the area, mainly for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

At one point on Sunday, more than 28k power users in the state were lacking electricity.

Moist weather were predicted to continue along large portions of eastern Queensland this next several days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was predicted as the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing thunderstorm potential expected across various areas of both areas.
Health Warning
Medical authorities alerted that there was an higher risk of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, particularly given the current weather patterns.
